Known for the 1 liter beer, bratwurst, rotisserie chicken, and jolly atmosphere, Munich hosts the world’slargest Volksfest (beer festival and traveling funfair). Great beer, great food and a great atmosphere! Oktoberfest usually starts in September 19 and ends early October 4.
New England and Hudson River Cruises
What a great way to view the change in leaves while you relax on a cruise. Ships generally sail roundtrip
out of New York, Baltimore, Bayonne or Boston. However, there are a few cruise lines that start and end in
Quebec City which is a beautiful fall destination not to be missed. Smaller ships, like the American Cruise Lines,
sail directly from NYC up the Hudson for a smaller, more intimate cruise experience.
Usually held within the first or second week of October, the Chicago Marathon hosts approximately 45,000 participants. This run is very popular among first time marathon runners as it has very little elevation change.
Albuquerque Balloon Festival
Literally hundreds of balloons taking flight during the Balloon Fiesta Park in Albuquerque. Usually held the first week of October. In 2015 it was held from October 3 – 11.
Niagara Falls & Finger Lakes Winery tours
As the leaves change, what better way to celebrate that taking a winery tour. Niagara and the Finger Lakes region of upstate New York are perfect romantic locations to sip wine while enjoying the scenery.
